Many countries are providing projects of discovering life on other planets with large budget. Naysayers consider it as a waste of resources and they believe governments should pay more money resolving the problems of our societies. I generally agree with naysayers’ consideration because we have several serious threatens are waiting to be addressed. However, the potential benefit of discovering space is significant as well, because it will progress the technology.
First, I generally support the idea of governments are obligated to lower their budgets on space exploration and spend more energy on addressing problems of public because gigantic resource is paid in space exploration will affect our public budget. As a result, we will have no budget to construct infrastructures like colleges, hospitals, and bridges. What’s more, if we spend much money over the space, we will have no capacity to provide citizens with welfare. The Soviet Union’s experience is the best instance, chiefs of the Soviet Union spent too much dollars on his space project which affected the ordinals lives. It was one of the main reasons of the falling of this country.
In addition, from my viewpoint, the potential return of space life exploration is considerable. Usually, we will develop lots of new techniques to finish our target over the space and the output can be applied in our daily life. For instance, microwave oven’s technique come from microwave integrated in the rocket.
To sum up, I support aerospace departments should lower their budget to improve peoples’ welfare. What’s more, the potential benefit of breakthrough in science motivated by space exploration cannot be ignored.
