Band 7+: The government is spending a lot of of money to discover life on other planets. Some people think that government is wasting money and should spend more money addressing the problems of public. To what extent do you agree?

Today, governments are focusing on funding space exploration instead of solving their citizens’ problems. Some people claim that this approach is a waste of money. In my opinion, although governments should prioritize solving the problems of public, space exploration is still important because it can lead to greater benefits.

Du to the lack of government attention and funding, many problems that require immediate attention are left unsolved. Instead of exploring life on other planets, governments should devote more effort to addressing society’s concerns. This is because many problems on Earth are affecting people’s lives negatively. Global warming, for instance, have caused significant damage to the environment and is threatening life on Earth. Therefore, governments should prioritize funding research and developing solutions to fight this issue rather than allocating more money to space exploration.

Despite the importance of addressing public concerns and saving planet Earth, discovering other planets can open the door for new opportunities. Other planets might contain valuable resources that governments can take advantage of. As a result, the money allocated for space exploration will not be wasted, and it will lead to greater benefits. For instance, expensive metals can be brought from different planets to earth, and more money can be allocated for funding research on climate change and other world problems.

In conclusion, I believe that solving the problems of public should come first. However, this doesn’t mean that governments should stop funding space exploration. Even though more money must be dedicated to solving problems on Earth, discovering other planets can help achieve this goal.
