The increasing science investigation has led to many perspectives that the government should be in charge of managing these research not private companies. While I understand why people hold these opinions, I still believe that authorities and private companies are responsible for conducting scientific research.
On the one hand, the responsibility for managing and carrying out scientific research should be done by governments for some reasons. Firstly, conducting these investigations requires tremendous effort, time, and a great deal of budget. Thanks to the budget from national taxes, the authorities can afford these expensive costs without worrying about the depletion of resources and funds. Secondly, the forefront role of the government is to ensure reliability and not sacrifice the long-term goal for temporary financial gain. For example, many weapons maybe developed and sold by Non-Governmental Organizations for commercial interest through the war in Ukraine, which is certainly harmful to almost all human beings.
On the other hand, the participation of private companies will contribute the ultimate goal. In truth, many scientific revolutionary leaps have been made by these very private facilities. The main reason is that the government officials are not as experts in either the scientific as private companies, which is the key to contribute to the auspicious results. For instance, over the past few decades, there have been many private companies conducting valuable research on space exploration or renewable energy sources. Besides, individuals who develop research on behalf of commercial interests are encourage to think creatively in developing new products and its quality.
In conclusion, while the government can be responsible for the safety and affordable for these studies, private institutions are also should be evolved in conducting and directing important research.
