The rise in online shopping will not lead to the closure of all shops in cities and rural areas. I strongly disagree with this statement because people cannot find everything on online platforms, and the prices of products can be high.
On one hand, we cannot buy every single product online because everyone’s tastes and needs are different. Nowadays, many people prefer to shop online to avoid going to physical stores, but some individuals still enjoy shopping in person for items they cannot find on websites. Moreover, there is often a concern about the quality and standards of products purchased online. For example, in Italy, many men prefer to buy their suits at offline stores because they believe that customization and fit are better in physical shops than on online platforms.
On the other hand, people are often reluctant to pay high prices for products displayed on websites. This is because reputable online companies typically charge more for products due to taxes and service fees. As a result, many consumers feel that online prices are too high and choose not to purchase. For instance, the total cost of products bought online often exceeds that of items purchased offline, primarily due to delivery and processing charges.
In conclusion, I firmly disagree with the statement that cities and towns will experience a significant decrease in offline sales due to the rise of online shopping. This is largely because we often cannot find the exact products we need online, and those that are available can be expensive
