Band 7+: The growth of online shopping will one day lead to all shops in towns and cities closing. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

No doubt we are living in a rapidly changing world, technology has made its way to give us the convenience of doorstep delivery in almost everything from groceries to furniture. Therefore, many people believe that it may reduce the number of stores in cities and towns. I agree with this statement because of it provides comfort and quick delivery services.

Online shopping is popular because of its convenience. For instance, big companies like Amazon and eBay are trending due to convenience. No doubt, they must be selling the same products as next-door delivery shops, but the convenience of delivering at doorsteps saves time for many busy individuals. Similarly, many small towns do not have a variety of global products. Hence, people have to travel miles away to get the necessary stuff, which can be a time-consuming and expensive commute. In this case, online shopping can be the best option to buy necessary things.

Another reason behind the demand for virtual shopping is faster delivery options. For example. Imagine getting invited to a friend’s theme birthday party at the last minute, and you realize you do not have a kind of dress. This can be problematic as it would not be possible to hunt the stores at night. However, virtual shopping can be the best and most reliable option to solve this problem as most companies deliver the products within a day. Thus, virtual shopping might just replace many stores within a town because of such promising options.

To conclude, rise in online shopping is a terror for many local shops in cities.the sole reasons behind this advancement is promising comfort and swift delivery services. Therefore, I totally agree teleshopping will replace physical stores in many cities and towns in upcoming future.
