In this day and age, society has advanced in economics, science, and technology because companies have been able to accumulate enough financial resources in order to engage in scientific research. This means that, for companies to achieve further scientific improvements, they need to make money. In my opinion, while improving people’s lives is the result, the way to achieve this result is to focus on profitability, not on improving people’s lives.
It is important to acknowledge that nowadays, we are living in the age of a digital economy. It is being developed in all aspects. Scientific companies should develop economically, which would lead to increasing the country’s economy. With this positive impact on the economy, the government can contribute to society’s progress. For example, if the economy grows by leaps and bounds, then the government will be rich. With many financial resources at its disposal, the government can contribute to the progress of society.
Moreover, the government can impose laws and regulations on science companies in order to protect the environment, but it should also try to protect these companies’ profits. Without these profits, there is no way for companies to sustain their research ambitions. For example, if a company is overburdened by laws and regulations, it would need to shut down and lay off all its employees. If this happens, everybody loses.
In conclusion, while many people think that profits are bad, if a science company improves its financial standing, humanity actually benefits.
