It is true that many older generations have passed down very traditional worth to the following generations about the way they should live, think and behave. However I firmly support the idea that such advices may not fit the youngsters’ preparations in the modern era.
On the one hand, It is useful to follow the older generations saying that we should choose a stable job instead of a fulfilling job. This is because these jobs could bring sustainable salaries so that they could address and afford the living needs in modern life. Moreover, towards job permanence, youngsters could have status in society and be treasured. For instance, many kinds of jobs like doctors or teachers are really respected due to their contribution to the quality of the country, like treating medically or teaching knowledge. As a result, working in a reputed place could enhance a quality lifestyle and deal with emergency accidents such as sickness.
In contrast, this is not correct in the situation that those stable jobs may bring enough salaries to live not to be rich. To be more specific, some kinds of these jobs need a long-time working, at least 4 years, to promote higher positions and salaries. One case in point is that the doctor or the police. Especially teachers, who teach history or music, may receive a fairly low income that can not affordable for their living conditions. In addition, If working in a chosen job, it will cause boredom and deficiency of motivation and pessimistic impact in work performance.
In conclusion, it is undeniable that the older’s advices are very crucial for the lifestyles of the young adults in choosing a better job for their future. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg due to the money aspect and efficiency in work. Thus, it could be better if the youngsters could select the necessary advice and engage in a proper workplace.
