Given two graphs shows the criminality of both sexes in different ages in the United Kingdom, and the proportion of prisoners in Britain respectively.
Most of the crimes are perpetrated at the age of twenties, with men more likely to commit crimes than female.
Figures show that the male conviction rate drastically increased from 2 per cent to 16 per cent by growing age of offenders from 10 years old to 20 years old. While for females, the rate for committing crimes gradually rises from 0 per cent to around 5 per cent at the same age range. After the age of twenties, both male and female crime rates dropped. Considerably, the crime rate of male declines sharply to 8 per cent at age 45, and 2 per cent at age 60. It can be observed that women at age 60 do not involve in criminal activities.
According to the pie chart, it can be seen that male takes up a large proportion of prisoners in England, which is 96 per cent of the total number of prison inmates. While female prisoners take up only 4 per cent of the total population.
