There is a current debate rages on about wether social media has more detrimental sides compare to its conveniences amongst its on growing popularity. I personally don’t believe that the effectiveness of social media is lesser than its disadvantages. This essay will explain how social media brings revolution in health sector and business sector despite having some minor issues such as health problems and various frauds.
First, online sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram have brought unprecedent changes in various sectors, specially in health sector. Although many young individuals are somehow becoming addicted to these media which are cause for their many health problems, the overall benefits of the social media overshadow the disadvantages. People from remote places are able to get treatment which is unthinkable in the past. For an example, the villagers from my native village need to travel more than 25 km to visit a doctor whenever they get sick. However, nowadays, they are allowed to get their treatment instantly without visiting any doctor using social media based telemedicine. Additionally, people of young age are taking counselling to get rid of their addiction of social sites by using same method.
Moreover, social media opens a new door for many citizens to grow togather by doing business online. In addition, it has brought many opportunities for women to make them self-sufficient by doing business. Although there are some chances of scamming and fraud, various online seminers, trainings about tackling the scams make people aware of those. For instance, my sister and younger brother are doing food business in Facebook for the past one year. Generally, they take order from online and deliver the home-made food. In addition, they have taken some awareness training in Youtube which helps them to recognise the fake food orders.
In conclusion, while some people argues about the inconveniences of social media due to the health concerns and scams, I believe the advantages of it outweigh the disadvantages. I disagree about that it has more cons than pros because social media has brought prosperity and development to the people of my village and my family
