Nowadays, a large number of items are thrown away by people. It’s due to people’s thoughts regarding their comparisons with others and their sense of perfectionism. It has adverse effects on the countries’ economy as well as its negative impact on the environment.
To begin with, social communities have significant effects on each other and they copy their behaviors and manners like disposing of broken items. In other words, it’s a social effect on people’s minds and they tend to throw out damaged items if their neighbors or friends do that. In addition, it is rooted in people’s sense of perfectionism and luxurious lifestyle given by social media. For example, people use social applications such as Instagram, Pinterest and Tiktok, and this usage leads their thoughts toward perfectionism when they see a new item bought by others and it inspires them to purchase new items.
On the other hand, following this approach can bring about some drawbacks for the country and environment. Firstly, supplying a huge number of products for people to buy is complex if they have to import them. For example, Sweden is an importing country and if their people decide to purchase new items regularly, it’s completely costly for the country to import that items and it’s detrimental for the economy and also causes a decrease in people’s purchasing power. Moreover, throwing out used items on a large scale leads to a harmful effect on the environment. useless items should recycle and if they don’t, they remain on the earth and their disintegration is time consuming and during this process,they significantly affect plants, animals, and even underground water.
To conclude, people tend to throw away broken items rather than fixing them and it’s because of their perfectionism and attitudes. this action leads to a damage in country’s economy and the environment.
