Nowadays, many young people prefer to spend their free time in shopping malls rather than participating in organized activities such as sports or music. Although there were some negative aspects of this situation, especially the decrease in physical activity, I consider this change to be a positive development. The main reasons for this are that young people had more opportunities to communicate with their friends and the opportunity to spend their free time in a fun way.
One of the main disadvantages of this situation was the decrease have in physical activity of young people. Spending time in shopping malls instead of regularly doing sports can lead to them being less active. A concrete example of this is a student who spends some time in the shopping mall with his friends instead of going to sports after school. In this case, he lost the opportunity to play sports and may not got enough physical activity during the day. Therefore, this situation was likely to negatively affect the healthy lifestyle of young people.
However, I believe that this situation had more positive aspects. The first big advantage was that young people have more opportunities to communicate with their friends. Shopping centers were convenient places for chatting, eating together, and participating in various activities. For example, schoolchildren who went to a shopping center in Tashkent on a weekend can chat in a cafe and then go to the cinema. Such a time helped young people understand each other better and strengthen friendships.
Another important positive aspect was that shopping centers can helped young people relieve stress. Today’s young people spent a lot of time studying due to school, exams, and other obligations. Therefore, it was useful for them to relax a little in their free time. A concrete example of this was a student who has finished the exam week, go to the shopping center with his friends on Saturday, watched a movie, and spent time in a cafe. This allows him to get away from the pressure of studying a little and prepared for the next week in a good mood. So, shopping malls was a place for young people not only to shop, but also to relax and socialize.
In conclusion, spending free time in shopping malls by young people can led to some negative consequences, such as a decrease in physical activity. However, the positive aspects, such as the opportunity to socialize with friends and have a good time, relieving stress, outweighed these disadvantages. Therefore, I considered this trend to be a positive development overall.
