With the changes in social preferences, it has become more common for individuals, particularly youth, to spend more leisure time in shopping centers rather than spending it on various organized activities, like sports or music. While this trend has a number of advantages, I believe that the drawbacks overweight them.
On the one hand, the growth in the number of people preferring shopping centers has several benefits. First of all, it is obvious that the amount of purchases increases steadily, in its turn, such trend leads to the step-by-step development of country trade, which leads to expansion of the range of goods, as a result, new contracts, new deals, and new ideas provide prosperity in the businesses. In addition, with the rise of such businesses, the competition becomes more severe, which leads to rapid development in the quality of services.
On the other hand, the organized activities play significant role in the individual self-development, without them life becomes boring and unattractive. No one can deny that fact: sport is vital for everyone no matter the age, the fall of the figure of adolescents doing it only means that they choose straightforward, unhealthy, and ordinary lifestyle, instead of productive and beneficial one.
To conclude, while there are advantages of such preferences, I believe, that for young people spending valuable time only in shopping malls can lead to disastrous consequences in the future, so the abovementioned trend is more negative development than positive.
