Nowadays, the present society is more accessible to technology than ever before, this resulted to a decline in face-to-face interaction that could ruin someone’s social capability to communicate. I agree that people are more engage with their gadgets rather than going out and socialize with people.

In my opinion, the younger generation lacks communication and social skills because majority of them have personal phones or gadgets that distract them to communicate with their family and friends. For example, the younger generation prefers to eat with their gadget while watching a film or show rather than to communicate with their family. It does not matter whether they are in special gatherings or just a simple family dinner. Furthermore, this behavior develops social anxiety for a lot of people. For instance, a person who has been communicating through social media such as Facebook and Instagram, struggles to communicate in person. They are usually nervous about face-to-face conversation and public speaking because they do not have enough confidence to do so.

On the other hand, the use of technology should have limitations. For example, confiscate their gadgets to give way for more important things such as hanging out with friends and let them develop their communication skills. Furthemore, face-to-face communication should be prioritize because it will benefit you, specially on a career that requires good communication and interpersonal skills.

In conclusion, the benefits of technology is numerous, however, we should not let it consume us and take us away from more valuable thing such as having a good relationship with our family and acquiring good communication skills.
