It is often argued that spending a large sum of captial for preserving wild animals and plants is not beneficial for human beings, as there are other issues that need to be solved. I completely agree with this statement, although wildlife are important for maintaing eco-system, issues such as starvation and lack of accommodation need more attention.
Firstly, funding can be used to support people who are suffering from starvation. Most part of the world, individuals are suffering from lack of food, this can be resolved by investing in growing crops or transporting goods to that place. For example, people from Haiti, survive by eating mud, if they receive financial support, they can produce crops for their survival or import goods from other countries, Thus, funding money for people who lacks basic human rights can be helpful for humanity.
Another reason is that investment on building accommodations can help people who lack a place to live. There are homeless people who need to sleep on the streets and during the time of winter, many people suffer from serious health problems and end up dying. However, this issue can be solved by building accommodation that can withstand thousands of people. For example, people living in city areas, are forced to live homeless and near the streets due to apartment rents being too high. If enough house are constructed, they can have their own home. Therefore, funding can be used in builidng more house so that large numbers of people can have their place to live.
In conclusion, huge investments are needed for protecting wildlife and plants; however that money can be used wisely to help other human problems. Solving the lack of foods on some part of the world and helping people by providing them a place to live need more attentions than funding for plants and animals to be safe in the jungles. Therefore, I believe that funding can be used in other issues than simply using the valuable money on protection of wildlife.
