Technological inventions have created numerous changes in the contemporary world. Many individuals are like couch-potatoes, which negatively affects their socializing skills. I completely agree with the statement and the following paragraphs discuss the reasons for it.

To commence with, visual communication methods especially television has a strong ability to keep people engaged to it. This is because, our brain tends to get attracted towards the colours and other features that is being showcased through television. Moreover, it has a plethora of contents in it which, is very interesting for people to watch and get engaged with. This creates a feeling of individuals being into something they like and are not aware about the time they are wasting. For example, if a person is watching a series, he or she will not be concerned about the time, instead he or she will only be curious of knowing what the next episode is.

Additionally, social skills of people get subsequently less as, individuals reduce or even never gets involved in physical activities because of this reason they will not be able to talk with others as they are not socialized or participate in any public meetings or groups. This creates social anxiety and isolation among most of them. Furthermore, addiction is also a major factor while considering dominance of television and unwillingness to be around people. Unfortunately, people get addicted to television and will not get into conversations with other or even their family members thus, it creates a sense of problem of socializing.

To conclude, even though there are many positives for social media or other visual communication platforms, there are more serious disadvantages for it. This includes, getting addicted, less physical activities along with communication problems contributed from the attractiveness caused by colours in it and the range of contents available.
