A large number of teenagers are becoming increasingly reliant on technology when learning. Although there can be some downsides to it, I strongly believe that this should be considered a largely positive development.
One of the drawbacks that stem from technology is that it makes people lazier than ever before. Today, we have access to numerous apps that simplify teenagers’ tasks, such as writing essays, solving math problems, or even finding answers to any kind of question. AI is a great example in this respect; this technology enables teenagers to get instant answers, reducing the need for effort and critical thinking. As a result, the majority of teenagers are becoming overly dependent on technology, and it is making them passive learners.
Despite the argument mentioned above, I am still convinced that the merits of technology should not be forgotten easily and have to be viewed as a positive development. First and foremost, technology can help teenagers in numerous ways, particularly in acquiring knowledge. That is to say, today we have AI teachers, Duolingo, and Khan Academy, who can teach not only about solving math problems but also about new languages and philosophy simultaneously. In addition, AI can be highly advantageous for teenagers and can rapidly elevate their academic performance within a short timeframe.
In conclusion, although most teenagers are becoming overly reliant on technology, I assert this should be regarded as a largely positive development, and its benefits, like academic performance and learning new skills, should not be dismissed as negligible.
