Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 8+: Today, more and more people prefer travelling to untouched and unexplored natural areas. What are the advantages and disadvantages for individuals and the country?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The trend of an increasing number of people choosing unexplored natural lands as their travel destinations has garnered significant attention. This essay will explore the benefits and drawbacks of this trend for both tourists and the countries involved.

For tourists, one of the key advantages of exploring unknown places is the improvement in physical and mental health. The environment of an untouched natural area tends to have a rich oxygen content, which can be beneficial for cardiovascular well-being. Moreover, the natural scenery often creates a therapeutic atmosphere that allows people to relax and alleviate stress, thus promoting mental health. However, traveling to unexplored areas also poses safety risks. Firstly, individuals who are unfamiliar with the local topography are at a greater risk of injury, especially since such areas often have limited access to first-aid facilities. As a result, injured individuals may miss the optimal rescue window, leading to more severe consequences. Secondly, the presence of wild animals, such as tigers, can pose a significant threat to personal safety.

For countries, the exploration of unknown lands presents both challenges and opportunities. On one hand, it can lead to damage to local ecosystems. Many unexplored areas are home to endangered species, and activities like hiking or running can adversely affect these wildlife populations. For instance, when people trample on grass or herbs, or when their scent or noise scares away wildlife, it can have a detrimental impact on species preservation. On the other hand, exploring new land can also contribute to a nation’s economic development by uncovering additional land and resources for civil or industrial use.

In conclusion, the exploration of unknown places can be viewed as both positive and negative. For tourists, it offers health benefits but also increases the risk of injury. For countries, while this trend can harm domestic ecosystem protection, it also presents opportunities for economic development.
