As for the factors contributing to an increase in crime films and shows, the main reason is an overall increase in crime rates. That is, intensified lawbreaking in various forms, such as fraud, cybercrime, and embezzlement, is forcing people to be aware of possible threats to their lives and properties. As a result, film and showmakers are turning to this genre, knowing that they might increase their audiences by offering what is on demand. For instance, in Uzbekistan, the popularity of a crime investigation program, ‘O’tkir tergov’, has risen significantly as the number of crime incidents is also on the rise.
Turning to feasible consequences, the overall impact can be varied. Firstly, some crime shows and films might idealize a criminal mindset and depict wrongdoers as role models for the young generation, launching them into anti-social behavior. Secondly, these shows and films might instill new criminal ideas in potential offenders. Although there might be some benefits for ordinary people to derive from such shows in form of entertainment and warnings, in order to take necessary precautions, I believe these films and shows should be strictly filtered and censored so as to prevent negative outcomes.

Regarding the possible impact on people, this type of shows and films might have various effects; however, I think there are more negative sides, and therefore, they should be effectively regulated.
