In this modern era, it is widely accepted by the society that having a tiny number of family members provide variety of benefits. However, potential drawbacks could also happen in this case. This essay will explore both advantages, and downsides regarding with the quantity of household members.
On the one hand, establishing a family members are often associated with financial issues, by owing a small family, it is easier to manage expenses. For instance, parents who have a lot of children are responsible for their daily/primary requirements including food, clothes, and education which possibly cost a large amount of money. Another reason is, regarding to the emotional connection between the child and parents, some studies have proven that emotional connection is correlated with the number of people in a group which in this case, parents who have less child will potentially be able to establish deeper emotional development with their child, resulting a healthy mental well-being.
In contrast, there are also several drawbacks of possessing a tiny group of family. Firstly, it could lead to overprotective parents. There are many kids in the society who are stricted with the rules that has been given by their parents making them difficult to achieve experience that they crave in a positive way. For example, they will not be able socialize with friends, and search new hobbies. Secondly, the child will potentially develop a feeling of loneliness due to having no sibling to talk or play, which lead to the lack of social and communication skills making them losing the most fundamental soft skills in the society.
