I strongly believe that attending a U.S. high school and living with a host family will be an amazing opportunity for me to introduce my small country, with its stunning culture, to others and connect with people from different backgrounds, as I have desired for a long time. In order to achieve my goal, having the right skills is pivotal, most of which I believe I possess. Even though I am still young, I am open-minded, tolerant, competitive, and have a strong sense of responsibility, all of which will guide me through this experience and help me succeed.
Adaptability and tolerance are the most important traits for adjusting to a new environment and dealing with any challenges that may occur while living abroad. These traits have been beneficial in my past experiences with different cultures, and I am sure they will continue to be a great help in the future.
Being open-minded and responsible will help in forming healthy relationships with my host family. Respecting and understanding each other’s cultural differences and similarities is a key factor in forming strong, everlasting bonds with people around you, which is something I undoubtedly see myself doing. Along with everything else, academic life also has a significant meaning for me, so I intend to do my best and not miss a single opportunity to improve myself in every possible aspect of my life.
In the end, I have come to the conclusion that even though it can be challenging to fit into a new environment with no one except yourself, I am positive that I can handle everything and I am positive I have what it takes to become a successful FLEX exchange student.
