Some people believe that success in life is more a matter of luck than of ability. While luck may sometimes influence a person’s life, I strongly disagree with this view. In my opinion, success mainly depends on ability, hard work, and determination.
Firstly, ability plays a crucial role in achieving success. People need skills and knowledge to perform well in their careers. For example, a teacher must understand their subject, and a doctor must have professional training. These achievements cannot be reached only through luck. Without the necessary abilities, even a good opportunity may not lead to success. Therefore, personal skills are a key factor in reaching important goals.
Secondly, hard work and persistence are more important than luck. Luck is unpredictable and cannot be controlled, but effort depends on the individual. Many successful people have worked for years to improve themselves and overcome difficulties. Even if they faced failures, they continued trying until they achieved their aims. This shows that success is usually the result of consistent effort rather than chance.
In conclusion, although luck can sometimes help people, I believe that success in life depends much more on ability and hard work. People who develop their skills and remain determined are more likely to achieve long-term success.
