Band 9: Wild animals have no place in the 21st century, so protecting them is a waste of resources. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The issue of whether the preservation of wild animals is justified in the 21st century remains a topic of debate. While some individuals argue that allocating resources to protect wild species is futile, I staunchly disagree with this assertion, and in the subsequent discourse, I will expound upon my rationale.

From a multitude of perspectives, I am of the opinion that the planet serves as the abode not solely for humans but also for various other living creatures. Moreover, the decline in animal populations can largely be attributed to the encroachment of their natural habitats by human activities such as urban expansion and industrial development. Consequently, I posit that individuals bear a responsibility for the detrimental impacts inflicted upon animals and their ecosystems, and it is imperative to prioritize their conservation efforts over neglecting their existence. Additionally, I contend that the preservation of wild species is integral as their extinction could disrupt the delicate ecological balance, leading to adverse ramifications for the entire ecosystem.

Moreover, I refute the notion that safeguarding wild animals entails wastage of resources. It is, in fact, the preservation of their habitats that ensures the survival of these species. Hence, it is incumbent upon the global community to collaborate in safeguarding ecosystems, as they not only serve as sanctuaries for wildlife but also foster a conducive environment for human habitation. For instance, scientific research indicates that the Amazon rainforest plays a crucial role in regulating global and regional carbon and water cycles, thereby contributing to climate stabilization through the release of vast amounts of water vapor into the atmosphere. Hence, by protecting wildlife and their habitats, we uphold the natural equilibrium necessary for all life forms on Earth.

In conclusion, I steadfastly maintain that Earth is not exclusively for human occupancy but is a shared habitat for all organisms. Therefore, it is fundamentally beneficial to conserve wild species, as elaborated upon in the foregoing arguments.
