Some people are give that it is pointless to protect wild animals, as it is a waste of resources. I strongly disagree with the statement and this essay shall discuss the reasons behind it.
Firstly, wild animals play a significant role in the animal kingdom, extinction of which will lead to an imbalance in ecosystem. The extinction of certain species of animals will destruct the food chain system, which may result in overpopulation or extinction of some other species in the food chain. To site and instance, if the number of snakes deplete, the eagles handing snakes will suffer from scarcity of food, as your result the entire food chain will get this disrupted.
Moreover, zoos and wildlife sanctuaries are a major tourist attraction, which earns a large amount of income. Zoos enable people to observe wild animals closely. A country can attract large number of tourists bike captivating various species of animals, which result in earning more money. In addition to that, zoos as well as wildlife sanctuaries provide lot of employment opportunities to individuals.
In conclusion I strongly disagree with the statement that protecting wildlife is a waste of resources, as while the animals have a crucial role in the animal kingdom and food chain, as well as, zoos and captivities attract large number of tourist.
