In recent times, it is debatable, whether traditional handwriting should be crucial for students in school or typing by digital devices, such as keyboard is the best method in order to improve personal abilities. I personally think that handwriting still plays a vital role in our education, as it helps our some skills in terms of our school life.
First of all, many people think that digital world requires development in every facilities, especially schools, because technology develop day by day and it leads to using technological devices in terms of studying or working. In many schools, computer rooms have dedicated in order to teaching children how to use these tools. For example, in European countries, in the last decades, a lot of schoolchildren do their homework using laptop or desktop keyboards. As a result, they are keeping up with today’s demands.
On the other hand, traditional handwriting is important for compulsory education, academic achievement and holistic development. In addition, certain fields require handwriting due to identifying through personal handwriting. Moreover, handwriting helps children to tackle some issues, such as dsylexia, which these students can cope with using handwriting regularly. For instance, in the last 5 years, such problems have increased, therefore numerous therapists help their passients by handwriting. For these reasons, I believe that this method should be thaught in educational institutes for improvement.
In conclusion, although digital communication offers numerous opportunities, including accessibility or speed, I strongly believe everyone needs handwriting in a lot of fields, particularly in schools.
