It is increasingly popular for children to avoid physical outdoor exercises during their holidays and weekends. Personally, I believe that this trend can largely be attributed to the advancements in electronic devices, and implementing restrictions on their usage would be an effective and rational decision.
With the advent of modern technology, many young people have devoted less time to outdoor activities. In the past, the younger generation often engaged in activities like hiking and climbing out of boredom, which provided an outlet for their energy and sense of adventure, especially when fewer technological options were available. However, contemporary inventions, such as technology, have changed this dynamic by providing more comfortable ways to spend leisure time. Firstly, technology allows them to make friends online despite long distances. Secondly, activities like immersive video games and films are often more appealing than outdoor activities.
Nevertheless, this shift may lead to serious problems, including difficulties in face-to-face communication and potential health issues such as obesity and vision problems. Therefore, I believe that authorities should take responsibility by limiting the use of digital technology. For instance, children could be allowed to use their phones for only 3-4 hours per day. This would be a sensible solution, similar to how Uzbekistan established a law several years ago restricting children’s television viewing until 10 pm, which helped parents establish a bedtime routine for their children.
In conclusion, I believe that technology is the main reason for the decline in outdoor activities among children, and setting fixed limits on gadget use is a reasonable solution.
