To study at university students must pay expensive tuition fees. Not every student can do this that’s why some people think that education at university is better to be free for everyone. I completely disagree with this statement. The main reasons are that universities have a lot of teachers(professors) who must have big salaries and the fact that education is not free everywhere and for everyone.
There are many reasons why I disagree with the statement that education at university should be free. One of the obvious ones is that at university we can come across a lot of professionals in their field whose salary must be appropriated with their skills. To clarify, teachers give important information that students need and can use in their major and the salary depends on their giving to students information. For example, almost all people believe that universities like Harvard and Oxford demand a large amount of money which someone can not afford, but why are they known as one of the best universities in the world even though their students must pay big tuition fees? The answer is that they have the best teachers and the education quality, that’s why all of us want to study there, even though payment is not little.
In addition to the case where the university pays the salaries to staff from their budget, there is another reason why I disagree with the given statement. Students at university must pay for their education, due to the value of knowledge nowadays. Naturally, knowledge remains the most important thing that is vital for people and without education people do not live, they survive. For instance, most people think that education was the first thing after which our ancestors started to develop in B.C.
In conclusion, I fully disagree with this opinion. The main reasons are that people must pay for their education at universities because of the information they receive and for its quality. Additionally, the university has a lot of staff like teachers and they must obtain salaries.
