As we all know, English is the international language learned by people worldwide. Sri Lanka is no exception. Most children here learn English as their second language, after their mother tongue. Sometimes, English is given priority over the mother tongue. This is done to enhance knowledge, seek opportunities abroad, explore other cultures, and find better job opportunities.

As we all know, English is the international language that is learned by the people who are living world widely. So Sri Lanka is is not the exceptional. So the most of the children here are learning English uh, as their second language, um, while they started to learn their mother tongue. Uh, then the mother tongue, they are sometimes free giving priority to the English. Just in order to enhance the knowledge and also for the seeking opportunities, uh, to continue their life in abroad and to explore the other cultures and also for a more, job opportunities and to, uh, apply
