Either in 1984 or in 2007, girl foreign language learners were more than boys. Spanish was the least interested oversea lanuguage in 1984 by students, although proportion of Spanish learners increased in 2007, it remained the last position.

Before, foreign lanuage learners of boys declined to under 30 percent in 2007, there were 30 percent in 1984. Although, girls studied oversea languages in 1984 with almost 50 percent, the percentage declined to 40 percent in 2007.

Among three most popular foreign languages, French led the chart in both years with 50 percent in 1984. People started being drawn to German in 2007, the percentage of learners rose from 20 in 1984 to over 20 in 2007.
