I would like to share an experience that was not only enjoyable but also significantly enhanced my creative writing. I had this class during my high school years, which took place in a cozy classroom with colorful posters and comfortable seating. My teacher, Miss Thuy, was known for her engaging teaching methods, with every lesson being interactive. She started class with a warm-up activity in which students had to share their memories, and she was very encouraging, using sensory details such as what they saw, heard, or felt. After the warm-up, Miss Thuy took us outside for a sensory exercise, where we were encouraged to observe our surroundings closely and jot down sensory details. Back in the classroom, we were given a task to use the sensory details we had gathered and become storytellers to share our stories. Each student improved their writing skills by adding different verbs. Overall, this lesson made a strong impression not only because of the creative activities but also due to the positive environment fostered by Miss Thuy. It taught me that it is important to include sensory details in storytelling, which stimulated me to explore my thoughts more vividly.
