The bar chart provides information about four kinds of music genres recordings in USA—rock, pop, jazz, and classical—that were bought by 5 age groups in 2010. All data is provided in millions.
Overall,younger age groups tend to favor Rock and Pop music, while older age groups show a stronger preference for Jazz and especially Classical music.
To begin with,the 16-22 aged groups bought almost 5 millions recordings related to pop genre,followed by Pop at around 3.8 million.While Jazz and Classical was not popular among teenagers and made up approximately 2 millions.A similar pattern is seen in the 23-31 age,Although the figures of Pop slightly lower than Rock,their sales still leading.
On the other hand,32-45 and 46-57 age groups, sales across all three genres except of Pop become more balanced and their indexes was between 2.5 and 3.5 million,however sales of Pop music was stable in both age groups.Furthermore,Classical genre was most dominant with nearly 5 million sales among 58+age group.In addition, popularity of Rock,Pop, and Jazz was nearly 3 millions respectively in that group
