The given graph depicts the jobless rate in two coutries , US and Japan, from the period of march 1993 to march 1999.
Overall, in Japan, the unemployment rate was less in the beginning which increased gradually. Whereas, in US, from a peak in the begining, the non employed rate fall over a period of time.
From 2.3 percentage in March 93, the unemployment rate in Japan increased with a flactuation till March -98 reaching 3.5 percentage, then rose up dramatically to 4.0 percentage in the year of 1998 itself, which shown a trend of upward after a levelling up, reaching 4.7 percentage in march 99.
While , in US, the non employed rate was 7.0 percentage in March 93, which decreased gradually with wide flactuation, reaching 4.5 percentage in 98, which is same as the unemployment rate of Japan in the same period, then continue to fall again till 4.2 percentage in March 99.
