  1. Diana Toleubayeva says:

It is thought by most adults that telling their children to try hard is the best way of giving motivation. Motivational speeches can make youngsters more disciplined and help them not to give up after the first setback, but they also have some drawbacks.

One evident benefit to telling them to do their best is that it helps to nurture discipline and follow the given rules to reach their goals. In case that children’s attitude to studying and doing sport activities tends to be immature, it is important to help them understand that everything they do makes sense and has an impact on their future. It changes children’s minds and makes them look at things in another way. Moreover, parents’ words about trying hard play an active role in teenagers’ self-esteem and help them not to surrender after the first negative experience. They will not be afraid to try one more time because of their parents’ support and implement their own dreams, even though they had an elaborate attempt before.

On the other hand, there are obvious disadvantages to telling them to work hard to achieve benefits. Firstly, homework and other after-class activities make adolescents who are told to be the best feel overwhelmed and frustrated. Being always in a stressful mood has a negative impact on a young body, especially on brain development. In addition, a lot of youngsters encounter high expectations from their parents and teachers. As a result, they tend to feel guilty and miserable because, as they think, their skills are not as bright as others think, even if their abilities are good enough.

In conclusion, encouraging children to try hard to realize their dreams trains children to follow rules and not to give up, but it also affects their wellness and self-confidence in a bad way.

A strong mindset plays a vital role for achieving success. This strong determination often developed through the guidance of parents and teachers, who responsible for build up their confidence. This mind setup can motivate children, in some cases, it may lead to overconfidence. This essay will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of giving children this message.

On the one hand, children alone can not build up that type of positive attributes. Because of that, parents and teachers need to work behind of children from the early age, they become more capable staying focused on their goal. In that way, children can grow their inner qualities such as, hard work, patience and problem solving. This way of thinking help children to do consistent effort, even when tasks become challenging. However, hard work alone is not sufficient. Besides that, patience is equally important, as individuals often face obstacles. For instance, in some cases people give up their goals in the middle of the process. Nevertheless, those who remain patience, they can overcome barriers. Consistent effort makes them a strong problem solver. As a result, in future when they get any problem those time they can easily handle their difficulties with these fundamental characteristics.

One the other hand, in some cases these positive outlook make people arrogant. At that time, they think I am able to achieve everything and stop working on these skills. Consquently, they fail to achieve their goals.

In conclusion, developing a strong mindset in children can approach them to catch their aim. However, excessive confidence may lead to arrogance and people may fail. Guidance is not enough, besides that people need to learn how to balance core traits.

    This is 6.5 band answer
In many countries, children are sometimes taught that they can make anything happens if they try hard enough. This situation has several pros such as they will be hardworkers and ambtious, it also has cons like they might become arrogant and it may affect their mental health well-being.

Telling children that they can fulfill anything if they try is making them hardworkers. In this young age, their brains are being programed by everything we teach to them, therefore, when we instill this idea of achieving everything is possible in their minds, they will end up doing their best in any task or job they do. Moreover, this idea helps in making them ambtious individuals in the future, because they will always be encouraged. To illustrate, when anyone knows that any dream is viable, they will be encouraged. Thus, they will have more dreams as they are growing up.

Children may become arrogant due to this action. When they are always told that everything is achievable, that will make some of them overconfident. As a result, some will not be wise in cases of making desicions which are related to their future. Furthermore, this trend could cause mental health problems. And that is because they know that they are able to fulfill anything and when they fail in that in the practical or actual life, that will affect their self-confidence negatively and they might become scared of failing and trying.

In conclusion, encouraging young people is a good thing, but it has negative effects on them.

  4. Sameya Haque🌸 says:

    This is 7.5 band answer
In many societies, parents and teachers often tell children that they can achieve anything if they work hard. This idea has both positive and negative sides.

On the one hand, this message can be very motivating for young people. When children believe that effort is the key to success, they may study harder at school or practice more in sports and hobbies. This positive mindset can build confidence and make them more determined. For example, a student who believes in hard work may not give up easily when facing difficulties in mathematics or science.

On the other hand, this message may also create some problems. Firstly, not everything can be achieved only by trying hard. Sometimes success also depends on talent, opportunity, or luck. If children fail even after working hard, they might feel disappointed or lose self-confidence. Secondly, some children may put too much pressure on themselves, which can lead to stress or mental health issues. For instance, if a child is told to become a doctor but does not have the ability or interest, they may suffer from frustration.

In conclusion, telling children that they can achieve anything by trying hard has both advantages and disadvantages. While it can encourage motivation and determination, it can also create unrealistic expectations and stress. Therefore, this message should be given carefully with proper guidance.

  5. Cecilia Krauss says:

Many cultures emphasize to children their inherent ability to achieve any goal they strive for. This essay will explore the benefits and drawbacks of teaching this to children.

If one delves into the rationale behind the choice of making a child believe he or she can become whoever they aim for, or get whatever they put their mind to, one will encounter evidence that this encourages concentrated effort and fosters discipline. In many worldwide cultural settings, these are still the skills most valued. In fact, these skills actually do improve the chances of professional success and becoming wealthy. For instance, Asian children are taught rigid discipline toward studies, so that they can be accepted into their university of choice, and it works. Nevertheless, these youngsters suffer more frequently from anxiety, depression, and burnout as a result of the stress related to such extreme dedication toward those predetermined goals. Additionally, focusing on only one or a few goals is challenging because if they cannot get what they strove so hard to get, the disappointment and depression will be even greater.

Conversely, modern cultures currently tend to view emotional intelligence, happiness, and mental health as key objectives for future generations, valuing them above the aforementioned ones. As a consequence, children are told to examine their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their passions. With that in mind, they should consider their options. Moreover, they are always encouraged to maintain a watchful eye on any changing circumstances that might alter their perspectives. If that leads to a shift in their objectives, this will be nurtured by the people surrounding them, since these cultural groups focus on a fulfilling life as one’s final goal.

In conclusion, although the classical discourse about being able to achieve anything we apply ourselves toward can result in highly productive adults, it can also lead to disillusionment and devastation. As a result, choosing a more mild and practical approach should be preferred.
