The maps compare how the art gallery’s ground floor has changed between 2005 and the present day
Overall, the art gallery’s ground floor witnessed remarkable developments. Additionally, the most noticeable change can be seen on the left-hand side of the art gallery, with three new areas and several facilities being added. These developments aim to enhance visitor experience and improve functionality.
In 2005, the receptionist was situated directly in front of the entrance, making it the first point of contact for visitors. On the right-hand side of this place, a complex of three exhibition rooms could be observed. Perpendicular to these rooms were the stairs, which were directly below the receptionist. Next to these stairs, in the rear section of the gallery and the bottom left-hand corner, was the café. Between this section and Exhibition Room 4 was the gallery office.
At present, a wheelchair ramp has been added outside, on the left-hand side of the entrance, providing easier access to the building. The reception desk has been relocated to the middle of the Grand Hall, making it more visible and convenient for visitors. The cluster of three exhibition rooms on the right-hand side has remained the same throughout this period. However, instead of a similar room as in the past being built perpendicular to these rooms, a lift was constructed next to the stairs. Due to the addition of the lift, the café has been made smaller and converted into a Gallery shop. At the top of this section, the Gallery office has been removed and replaced by a vending machine. Finally, Exhibition Room 4 has been divided into two smaller rooms. Upon entering the building, visitors can now see a Children’s Area in the lower left-hand corner, and next to it, a Temporary Exhibition space has been introduced.
