Some group of criminals start their criminal activity after their first imprisonment. It happens for a variety of reason, however solutions do exist do deal with them.
I consider two factors to blame why among some criminals crime recommitment happens to start again. The principal reason is attributed to the fact that most criminals are not reeducated in most of the prisons around the world. A big percentage of criminals share the common background – bad family and friend environment that most criminal share, bad deeds done while being with friends and family problems assosiated with individual’s behaviour . A bad environment and family leads an individual to step on a wrong path in life. Another contributing factor is that for some criminals, spent time in prison results in making good relationships with other higher ranked ones, that causes bigger crime activity after the sentence.
Nevertheless, steps can be taken to combat this problem. The solution should start with changing prison culture-jails should not be punishment places, instead of it, it would be better if it would be replaced with reeducational facilities, since most of the prisoners just need the right guidance in their lives that the lacked. This practise can change crime rates significantly, as in that case a big number of minor criminals would step on a right path in their lives, due to this change.Another effective measure to be taken would, in fact be imprisoning criminals in order of their committed crimes-minor and major crime committers should be putted in different prisons,as the influence of criminalism is one of the main reasons of recommitting crimes. Preventing influence should be on of the prior aims of prisons.
In conclusion, the problem of crime recommitment after the initial prison sentence derives from wrong prison aim combined with jail putting and this will not be solved unless, prisons would change its main goal and criminal influence in prisons would be prevented.
