I want to talk about rice, a very crucial plant in my country, Vietnam. Rice serves as the main food for most people in Vietnam, and it is very important for our culture and economy. You can see rice fields in many countryside areas, especially in the north and south. These places have big, green rice fields that go on for a long distance. A rice plant has long leaves. As it grows, it can reach about one to 1.5 meters tall. When the rice grains are ready, they form clusters at the top and turn golden brown. Rice is important for many reasons. First, it is a big part of our meals. Almost every Vietnamese person serves rice in their main courses. And we also use it to make traditional foods like pho, banh mi, spring rolls, and the list just goes on. Second, Vietnam is one of the world's greatest rice exporters. And rice exporting has always played a crucial role in fostering the national economy. Additionally, rice has cultural meaning in Vietnam. It is linked to prosperity and plays a big part in festivals. For instance, during the Tet holiday, we make a special rice cake called Banh Chung to celebrate. In short, rice is not just important for food, but also has economic and cultural value for the people of Vietnam.
