Some people believe that students need to acquire a second language because they need to be bilingual, but others believe that this is unnecessary for them. There are advantages and disadvantages to this position. On one hand, it will be beneficial for students when they learn an additional language. Their cognitive development will enhance, and they will find a job in the job market with ease. When they learn additional languages, their perspective will be improved. On the other hand, some people don't have linguistic competence, so they are not keen to learn languages. Instead, they may prefer other types of subjects like math, history, and others. They may also think there are a lot of AIs that can provide language translations.
