With modern technologies, in today’s society, people are used to going to the supermarkets and purchasing international goods that are produced from all over the world. This is the result of the globalisation process that has been taking place in our world for the last 60 years. I find this development mostly positive and stick to the fact that the development has more advantages than disadvantages, even though there are factors that have cons too.

First of all, the more product is available, the more it gets popular among the producers that open markets.I can prove it with the producers expanding their markets and businesses by developing international transportation by selling its stuff from all over the world. The international marketing and the opportunity for people to have the advantage of having a huge variety of food. Also, the possibility of people buying goods that are not available in their country. For example, consumers are able to eat fruit all year because they are not dependent on weather and climate. For example, people from Russia with harsh weather can enjoy exotic fruits that only grow in tropical countries such as Thailand and Indonesia.

But on the other hand, consuming imported goods can not only be beneficial, it has disadvantages that some people are aware of. Firstly, the main problem that can cause ecological problems because of carbon emissions being thrown by transport. The reason for emissions is the long distance shipping that requires burning of fossil fuels. The next con is an increase in prices of international products. For instance, the dragon fruit that got transported from Vietnam is way more expensive, because of the increased prices for shipping costs.

In conclusion, there are advantages that require the availability of products and increase in the number of new markets being opened for producers. Also, the disadvantageous factors that pollutes the nature with ships’s carbon emissions and increase in prices of products.

With modern technologies,it is possible for individuals to purchase any different kind of food that is produced from all over the world. In the past, consumers had problems with buying food from foreign countries, since there were no suitable transports for food transportation. From my point of view, this fact has more pros than cons and this development is more positive.
I strongly believe that buying international items and trading bring undeniable benefits. Consumers enjoy numerous kinds and variants of food or otherwise, unavailable or seasonable items in their countries. They can enjoy fruits, vegetables, exotic fruits and even dishes from different cultures all year around. Secondly, it helps to improve cultural exchange. Trying international foods allows people to experience other traditions and different kinds of dishes without traveling abroad. In addition, global trade can improve economics from all sides. Farmers and businesses gain access to international markets and increase their income and business success.
On the other hand, despite the huge number of benefits from global marketing, there are some several disadvantages related to it. For example, concern is that it can harm local producers, who may struggle to compete with cheaper international goods. Also, the large number of transports can harm ecology because of its carbon emissions.
In conclusion, although there are environmental and economical concerns, the ability to access international food from around the world is generally a positive development, due to the increased choice, cultural diversity and economic opportunities. However it’s important to balance between supporting local goods and sustainable practices

    Band 6.0
In many countries, people can buy food from different parts of the world. While this development has some disadvantages, I think that it is a positive trend.

On the one hand, buying at supermarkets brings some benefits. Firstly, it gives consumers more choice and allows them to try different types of international food. For example, people can enjoy tropical food and dishes. Secondly, imported food often does not include any preservatives and good for health. In addition, international trade in food can support economic growth by creating new jobs.

On the other hand, there are some negative aspects. Transporting food can increase pollution and impacts to the environment. For instance, airplanes produce carbon emissions which contribute to climate change. Moreover, local farmers may face strong competition, which can affect their income and create difficult economic situation.

In conclusion, although there are some environmental and economic drawbacks, I believe that the advantages of having access to international food from around the world are more significant.

  4. Claudia Cuautle Ramirez says:

With the rapid development of global trade, many countries have gained access to a wider variety of merchandise, particularly food products. This has led to the presence of several types of international ingredients in local grocery markets around the world. However, I believe this phenomenon has negative long-term implications, and in this essay, I will explain my reasons why.

Firstly, imported food tends to be more expensive. It is well-known that transporting items over long distances incurs costs, especially with food, as quality preservation is a significant factor. Therefore, sourcing various types of food from different regions can lead to increased prices. For instance, Japanese meat, particularly high-quality Kobe beef, is extremely costly even within Japan. Nevertheless, due to its exceptional quality, numerous restaurants and markets seek this meat, despite the potential for drastic price increases.

Another reason for concern is the pollution caused by transportation across the globe. Climate change has intensified over the years, and international trade has significantly contributed to this issue. In the case of food, the demand can be so high that it necessitates multiple shipments within a single week. This scenario can have detrimental effects on the environment in the long run. For example, there has been a noticeable rise in global temperatures, largely attributed to the constant transportation of various goods, particularly food.

In conclusion, while it is beneficial to experience and learn about other cultures through food and to have access to a diverse range of options today, there are serious downsides to this progress. For many of us, even if such foods are available in local stores, they are often unaffordable. Additionally, considering the significant investments required to bring these products here raises doubts about whether the benefits truly outweigh the costs.

  5. bilal says:

In recent years, in many nations, customers have been able to go to supermarkets and purchase goods that are produced globally. In my opinion, this is a positive development because people can effortlessly buy a variety of foods that are manufactured all over the world.

To begin with, purchasers can go to a market and comfortably buy meals because consumers who visit supermarkets can obtain food easily and save valuable time and energy. As a result, instead of investing time in preparing food for themselves, they can spend that time on their work and personal development and also learn new skills. For example, a person who works on a project does not have enough time to cook. Therefore, he can go to the shop and buy food according to his own choice.

Besides, customers can pay for a variety of foods according to their needs. At the same time, they can buy a large number of items, and there is no limit. Consequently, people can experience different kinds of cuisine and enjoy them with their families. If they purchase food from the market, they not only experience different types of dishes but also become familiar with other cultures’ food. For instance, some people who love to eat spicy food and want to try popular dishes can enjoy a variety of international meals without travelling abroad.

In conclusion, purchasing food that is produced worldwide is a positive development for individuals and society as a whole.

  6. Bia says:

Supermarkets are a great place for consumers to shop because they offer a wide variety of products all in one location. They provide multiple options for the same items, allowing shoppers to compare prices and ingredients while also saving time.

I believe supermarkets are a positive development in today’s world, as people find it much easier to navigate between different sections compared to a farmer’s market. One major advantage is convenience; if we are running late for dinner, we can quickly buy our groceries and leave without delay. In addition to food items, supermarkets also sell miscellaneous products such as clothing and electronic devices. Parking facilities are usually well organized, with designated spaces for cars and bikes; therefore, transporting groceries safely is guaranteed. Moreover, supermarkets have systematic checkout counters where customers can queue, receive receipts to track their spending, or simply tap and pay without any human interaction. This is especially beneficial for individuals who prefer minimal social interaction. Furthermore, customers can save money through frequent discounts and sales offered during holidays and festive seasons.

Personally, I enjoy going to supermarkets because it makes me feel like a responsible adult managing my own grocery shopping. I find the experience convenient and hassle-free. The infrastructure and overall atmosphere are also appealing, as I can spend time exploring new products and browsing through different items.

Overall, supermarkets represent a positive development because they save time and are cost-effective. More supermarkets should be established so that people can shop closer to their homes instead of traveling long distances.

  7. yunseo lee says:

Nowadays, thanks to the development of infrastructures that allow many people to obtain whatever they want from anywhere via a wide range of transportation options, it is now possible for people to easily buy food imported from abroad in supermarkets. I believe this trend is positive for various reasons.

To begin with, some people argue that this development is negative for several reasons. First of all, they believe that easy access to various kinds of food from different countries may lead people to be less likely to buy local products compared to the past. As a result, markets that sell only local products using conventional methods could be adversely affected. Secondly, this trend could foster a preference for foreign cultures, which may show a lack of respect for one’s own cultural heritage. Preserving one’s culture is essential everywhere, as it represents one of the most important values for every country.

However, many people believe that it is beneficial to enjoy food products from other cultures for various reasons. First and foremost, compared to the past, people can now access a diverse array of foods from other countries more easily, which is advantageous as it leads to more efficient spending and convenience. Moreover, this trend allows people to experience different cultural foods, potentially leading to a deeper understanding of other culinary traditions. It is crucial for individuals not to discriminate against other cultures and to embrace diversity, which ultimately benefits everyone.

To sum up, although there are valid reasons why some people view this trend negatively, I believe it can lead to more positive impacts for many people.

  8. Srity ahmed says:

Currently in various countries, people tend to shop from supermarkets to purchase goods produced around the world.

Nowadays, global marketing has been made easy due to technological advancements. Previously it was very hard to obtain food from another country and people had to rely more on locally made products. I personally feel this is a benefit, since all the world’s products are in a palm’s reach for consumers. For example Marmite, which a few decades ago were only exclusive in Australia can now be purchased from many supermarkets, allowing consumers to try out a food brand that is popular in that country.

Some people might disagree with my opinion and bring forward the argument that this may cause an issue for locally made food products due to global competition and that is also a valid point. For example, in our country (Bangladesh) during my childhood one of the famous chocolate brand was called Mimi, which later on lost all it’s customers when supermarkets imported things like Cadbury chocolate. Although, this is negative when veiwing from a local producers perspective, for the consumer this means abundance of choices when it comes to a certain food product. Furthermore, the global competition means upgrading local products to meet that standard; therefore, I feel this brings more positive than negative.

In conclusion, despite it having both it’s  positive and negative the positives outweigh the negative due to global competetion and the consumers having ease of access for all these products.

  9. Alua Tapisheva says:

The accessibility of food produced all over the world is becoming common today. Many argue whether these changes lead to a negative or positive effect. From my point of view, the variety of food from different parts of the world proves a strong trading bond between countries and also gives consumers a wide range of products. In this essay, i will argue my point and give examples of why it is a positive development.

Firstly, access to products from abroad is evidence of a strategic partnership. By buying food produced in a foreign company, consumers encourage collaboration. Therefore, stores from different countries assist each other in sales and fundraising. In other words, trading manipulations contribute to the economy of both participating countries. So, that is why this leads to a highly positive development.

Secondly, a huge choice of products gives the opportunity to find substitutes. There are numbers of people with different kinds of allergies or diets. For example, according to statistics, the number of lactose-intolerant people rose dramatically last year. Sometimes milk manufacturers in Kazakhstan are unable to produce alternative milk, so people buy it from foreign food stores. This makes shopping and product choosing a bit more comfortable and suitable for buyers.

In conclusion, the provision of a variety of food affects not only on the economics, but also on the comfortable shopping. By ensuring stores have goods from abroad, countries are making a big step toward a positive development.

In today’s society, especially in the West, we are used to going to the supermarket and buying food produced all over the world. This is the result of the globalisation process that has been taking place for nearly 60 years. I find this possibility mostly positive, although I recognise its drawbacks and will explain my thoughts shortly.

Firstly, having the possibility of buying food items produced all over the world in the local supermarket brings variety to food sources. Consumers have a plethora of choices at their disposal. Independent of one’s diet, whether carnivore, vegetarian, or ketogenic, consumers can buy a variety of products that suit their needs. Whether it is beef from Argentina, spices from India, or maple syrup from Canada, everyone can have a rich meal. Furthermore, having access to food from numerous countries may also have a significant impact on one’s diet. For example, adding Indian spices to one’s food will likely decrease body inflammation markers.

Secondly, having a variety of food sources makes bills fall significantly, due to the law of supply and demand. International competition leads to lower prices. For instance, if consumers have the option of buying food from countries with low wages, the final product will likely be cheaper compared to food products imported from high-wage countries. This also results in the shutdown of companies that cannot operate at competitive prices, which improves market efficiency.

To sum up, I believe that having access to food items produced in a multitude of countries improves one’s overall quality of life. It is both cheaper and healthier to have a myriad of food sources.

    1. Dimash Nurkul says:

A lot of countries today have different types of food products in any supermarket. This products may made in other different countries, for example someone in Africa and this person can drink coca-cola that made in U.S or eat some ramen which made in Japan. In my opinion, it is not drawback. On the other hand, it is one of positive side that makes whole world connected.
Nowadays, any shopping mall have some restaurants that from other country, for instance KFC, Mc Donalds or Burger King, this restaurants from U.S., however, everyone around the world could eat some dieses from this restaurants. Furthermore, in some shopping mall products from China, Japan. In my opinion, this type of connection make people more connected, because not only Korean citizens could eat ramen, today every European can eat food from Asia, Africa or Oceania. On the other hand, people around the world are able to buy some clothes from every brand they want or from every country. For example, if someone live in Asia but this person want to wear some clothes from Italy or U.S. this person are able to order delivery that order clothes or another type of things from abroad.
On the other hand, one of drawback is quality of product. Quality of product from abroad will not be able to fresh or made by cheapest materials. For instance, before order some clothes from China or other country it must by checked by pro, because a lot of clothes made by cheapest materials. If some one want great and comfortable clothe they must have check materials. Moreover, delivery company could order product for a long time. This waste time and recipient could not return clothe if it was not quality.
In conclusion, one of the best positive side of products from abroad is connection people around the world, however, one of the drawback is random quality of product. In my opinion, positive side is more valuable for people due to everyone can wear some clothes from abroad which one is not in them local shops.
