Band 6+: People continue to recommit crimes even after being penalized for their wrongdoings. Why do you think this happens? How can crimes be stopped

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, committing crimes again and again is a prevalent topic, as people, after being punished, often do sin. The major reasons behind this happening could be unemployment and poverty. However, there are potential solutions to mitigate crimes at the root.

As a recommitment of the offence, even after strict penalties are surging over time. There may be several causes, but the most common one is the high rate of unemployment among young people. Thus, when people feel helpless, besides having an education, they have not found any other source of income for living a good standard of life, and they resort to violent acts. Another major reason for this issue is poverty. Poverty forces individuals to commit a crime as they have no proper education, accommodation, or healthcare facilities. Therefore, the lack of knowledge between good deeds and wrongdoings enables people to follow the path.

Nonetheless, some potential measures can help to alleviate such mispractices. For instance, the government can provide job and career opportunities to the young generation to control the level of joblessness, which ultimately reduces the violence rate. Moreover, the big businesses can play a significant role in overcoming poverty, mainly in rural and underprivileged areas. Most criminals have a background from such areas due to the lack of education. Subsequently, such companies subsidize funds for schools, food for people, and medicine to fulfill the needs of people.

In conclusion, the increasing rate of unemployment and poverty is a major reason for recommitting crimes. However, governemnt and larger companies by providing jobs and funding to people can overcome this issue.
