I used to believe that studying online was useless, as our students couldn’t really concentrate at home and teachers wouldn’t be able to explain things probably without a screen. I also felt that online classes were boring and not as serious as face-to-face lessons. However, during the covid lockdown, schools in my country were closed and I had to study online for several months. At first I didn’t like it at all, but after some time I realized that online education had many advantages. For example, I couldn’t watch recorded lessons again if I didn’t understand something and I couldn’t study at my own pace. I also saved a lot of time because I didn’t need to travel to school every day. Gradually I become more comfortable with it and started to enjoy learning online. I discovered many interesting apps and websites that helped me improve my English and other subjects. This experience completely changed my mind about online learning. I felt surprised and happy that I had been wrong because it showed me that I can adapt to new situations. It also allowed me an important lesson not to judge something before I try it myself. Now, I believe that both online and offline education can be effective if students are motivated and organizated.
