I think in today's modern world, where the world has become a global village, it is of utmost importance to learn a second language because people connect through language. Having said that, there are many different languages across the world. So, learning a second language, be it an international language such as English, could create a lot of opportunities in terms of career-oriented opportunities as well as social-oriented opportunities by connecting with people.
