The diagram represents the proportion of individuals in different age groups(from 16 years) who used the Internet in 2003, 2004, 2005 and in 2006. The data is measured in the percentage terms.
Overall, the highest share of Internet users are students aged 16-24, whereas the lowest figure was recorded aged 65 and more over the period given. Thus, previous generations used the Internet significantly less compared with the younger population.
According to the graph, the overwhelming majority of the youngest population (80%) surfed in the Internet, whereas the figure reached at 100% in 2005. Meanwhile, the ratio of users aged netween 25 and 44 increased steadily, it rose from approximately 45% in 2003 to almost double in 2006.
Furthermore, the share of citizens aged 45-54 accounted for around 60% in 2003 and increased by about 20% in 2006. By contrast, the proportion of individuals aged 55-64 constituted approximately a quarter in 2003 and grew steadily over the period. Additionally, the oldest population of internet users aged 65+ made up roughly 15% in 2003 and it increased by 5% more in 2006.
