The line graph illustrates information about the number of people who involved in four different sport categories (Basketball, Tennis, Badminton and Rugby) in a particular region from 1985 to 2005.
Overall, Rugby and Basketball experienced decreases over the two decades whereas the figures for Badminton and Tennis almost remained stable. It is also apparent that by far the biggest change was noted in Rugby and also this was leader throughout the whole period despite declining dramatically.
Focusing on the decreases first, there were falls in the figures for Rugby and Basketball. In 1985, Rugby has the largest number of participants but after peaking at around 270, this figure began to decrease and Basketball has the least number at approximately 70 and it decreased to just over 50 by 1985. After 1990, both trends commenced to decline gradually year by year.
In contrast, the figures for Badminton and Tennis remained almost unchanged despite some fluctuations. In 1985, both numbers started from the same point and saw slight decreases. They continued to decline slightly year by year. In the final
year, both Badminton and Tennis ended up with just under 150 and about 125 respectively.
