It was essentially about how we view poverty back in the late 19th century, particularly in the french revolution era well right after it ended or along those timeline so basically a poor man had nothing but he was accustomed to jail because he stole some brits for his nephew’s or niece’s while he was working hard and breaking his leg at the time and it was not a very happy story for him in the book. It was a heavy topic because I had never thought of his point of view up until I read Les Midsoulo Bills before, which I first experienced in 2017. I came up to pick it up again two years afterwards on my trip to the library and it got me thinking about how some people who are a lot more privileged in terms of wealth can better figure out a system that can impact those in poverty so that they can have a a better life? Well, they can at least eat. What I need to say is that sometimes laws are unfair and that we can only do so much in the system, which made me so sad.
