The line graph shows the number of worldwide tourists in millions, who traveled to three different regions between 2000 and 2020. Overall, all three continents demonstrated an upward trend in tourist arrivals across the period; however, Asia overtook Europe in the number of international tourists around 2012, while Europe and Africa experienced a slight increase throughout the given period.
In 2000 year, the number of international tourists in Asia were around 15 millions, a decade later the figure rose significantly to 35 million. In the remaining years the growth of tourist arrivals became noticeably faster; therefore, the numbers experienced gradual increase and reached 70 millions. Additionally, the figures of Europe and Asia were intersected in 2011 with 38 million of tourists, respectively.
By contrast, the number of tourists who traveled to Europe and Africa rose slightly across the period. Thus, both regions showed a lower numbers. At the beginning of the period, the number of travelers in these continents hovered around 15 million and 35 million, respectively. While, at the end of the given timeline, the number of global travelers in both regions experienced a small rise and reached with respective figures of 42 million and 19 million. Additionally, the process of a growth of tourist arrivals in Europe and Africa was quite similar.
