There is a debate about whether clothes can judge a person or not. It is often claimed that people are prone to purchase expensive materials or clothes, since they think that people will judge them by what they wear or ride. I strongly agree with this characterization for the following reasons.
Firstly, people buy such extravagant things because of their satisfaction and enthusiasm. This is because when they see on social media one of their friends purchase some high-priced items, which influence them to purchase similar things. People think that if they have these, they would preserve it as a souvenir and a showcase item. For instance, various social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok primarily convince them to acquire these things, leading them to provide personal satisfaction. Consequently, individuals feel comfortable while they sorround their acquaintance.
Secondly, material possessions are often used as a symbol of social status, encouraging people to spend excessively in order to create a positive impression on others. Someone getting expensive material provides to think others that he or she is a fashionable and affluent individual. If you have a luxury car or branded products, for example, people will acknowledge you as a prosperous member of society. Besides, a young professional tends to buy an exorbitant car, meaning that colleagues and friends will recognize you as a successful person.
In conclusion, although having such expensive materials cannot judge a person, I believe purchasing these high-priced things relies on personal fulfillment and social class. As a result, people often dive into it to acquire these.
