The competition I’ve chosen to describe was an art competition held in Tehran. When I was around 12 or 13, I decided to take part in this competition. This art competition encompassed all forms of art such as literature, sculpture, cinema, painting, ballet. As I used to paint with oil and watercolour, I took part in painting competition. I remember having 10 strong rivals who were brilliant artists and which made this competition rather challenging for me. Initially, it was quite difficult to decide between painting a portrait or a landscape. Finally, I opted for painting a landscape, putting a lot of time and effort in working on my painting. I remember painting from dawn till dusk. Finally, it came out really impressive and exquisite. I was really satisfied and overjoyed by the result. It received the second prize for the second most beautiful painting in that competition, which gave me a sense of accomplishment and I was really proud of myself. But I think if I had painted a portrait, I would have received the best prize.
