A glance at a line graph provided reveals the released amount of carbon dioxide divided into four various countries namely the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal, measured in metric tonnes, between 1976 and 2007. Overall, there was a progressive growth pattern witnessed in Italy and Portugal, as well as, the reverse was true for the United Kingdom and Sweden.
In terms of the United Kingdom’s emission, despite being the highest compared to other countries over 10 in 1967, it experienced a
minimal and constant decrease to merely 9 which yet still maintained its crown after four decades. Regarding Sweden’s released carbon dioxide, it grew exponentially from 8 to over 10 which was its peak after a decade before going down significantly and continuously by 5 in 2007. With regard to the amount of air thrown off in Italy and that of Portugal, although they have homogenous trends, they have discrepancy in levels of growth While the former hiked drastically from 4 to roughly 8 which undergone a two-fold increase, the latter observed a vigorous climb from about 2 to just 6 which was tripled compared to its initial point during the mention period.
