Overall, the rate of Irish who was not working saw a down-ward trend. Besides, it was clear in the chart that the figure for the country’s leaver also declined significantly.
As can be seen from the graph, the propotion of workless Irish decreased mildly from about 17 to 13 between 1988 and 1990, before went up slightly to around 15 in 1992. From 1992 to 2000, that percentage plummeted to just under 5, then remained unchanged until 2004. In the last researched years, the rate of unemplyment in Ireland rose moderately to 6%.
The number of migrated citizens witnessed a sharp fell from 60000 to nearly 35000 between 1988 and 1922, followed by a period of constant downfall, then stopped at approximately 25 thousands in 2002. Then, the figure recovered substantially until 2008, at 50 thousands people.
