It really depends on the teaching techniques and the potential of each person. But to me, I think it's easy, as I started swimming when I was about 5 years old. My dad just put on the arm floaties and the swimming ring, and he said, just jump and hold your breath, and you will naturally float. I did it, and then I got used to the water easily. However, I found that many children at that time couldn't do the same thing. They were so scared.
