The line graph illustrates the number of population, birth rate, and death rate of England and Wales between 1700 and 2000. Overall, the population showed an upward trend while the birth and death rates experienced a minor fluctuation.
First, the population size was 2 million in the beginning. After reaching 10 million in 1750, it then dropped to about 3 million in 1800. However, the population recovered its figure after 50 years. Subsequently, it grew dramatically throughout the given timeframe.
In terms of the birth rate, it reached its peak at 40% in 1750 and levelled out for 50 years. Next, it dropped by 8% in 1850 and stood as it did for another 50 years. In 1950, it experienced a dip to 22% and rose back to 34% in 2000. Lastly, the death rate showed a similar trend to the birth rate except for the last 50 years. It levelled out at 20% from 1950 to 2000.
